The Last of Us Episode 2 Recap: What Happened

While navigating an old museum, the group is hunted by Clickers—infected who use sound to track their prey in the dark. The encounter is a terrifying display of the fungus's power, as the creatures move with unnatural speed and strength. Although they manage to kill the monsters, the victory is short-lived as Tess reveals she has been bitten during the skirmish.
Tess's Final Stand
Realizing her time is short, Tess convinces a reluctant Joel to continue the mission alone. When a horde of infected approaches their meeting point, Tess douses the room in gasoline and stays behind to blow up the building. Her sacrifice buys Joel and Ellie the time they need to escape, leaving Joel with the heavy responsibility of fulfilling her last wish.
